Projects

These projects reflect my backend development journey, from building secure REST APIs to developing AI-integrated backend systems and working with production-oriented application architecture.

Investment Portfolio Tracker

Flagship Project

A production-style FastAPI backend application for investment portfolio management that combines authentication, SQLAlchemy-based persistence, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agent workflows, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) in a layered backend system.

Backend Features

  • JWT authentication with access and refresh tokens.
  • Multi-Demat account support.
  • BUY/SELL transaction management.
  • Portfolio summaries and holdings calculations.
  • SQLAlchemy ORM with PostgreSQL and configurable relational database support.
  • Layered architecture: Routes, Services, and Repository.
  • User-scoped data access and trusted backend authorization boundaries.

AI and RAG Integration

  • RAG pipeline for PDF, DOCX, TXT, and Markdown documents.
  • Source-grounded answers with document citations.
  • Configurable ChromaDB and Pinecone vector-store providers.
  • Provider-agnostic LLM and embedding integration supporting Gemini, OpenAI-compatible, and local providers.
  • LangGraph orchestration for AI agents and backend tool calling.
  • Trusted user and chat context isolation during AI tool execution.

Model Context Protocol

  • MCP support through STDIO and authenticated Streamable HTTP transports.
  • Personal access token authentication with Argon2-hashed token storage.
  • Chat-scoped document search with user ownership validation.
  • Shared backend tools reused by the web assistant and MCP server.

Testing

  • Automated Pytest suite covering authentication, portfolio workflows, repository contracts, document uploads, RAG, AI tools, LangGraph orchestration, and MCP security.

Technology Stack

Python, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, LangChain, LangGraph, RAG, ChromaDB, Pinecone, Gemini, JWT, Argon2, Docker, MCP, and Pytest.

AccessTracker — Full Stack Accessibility Bug Reporting Platform

AccessTracker is a full-stack accessibility bug reporting platform designed to help users report, explore, and document accessibility issues across applications and platforms. The project focuses on backend architecture, API design, authentication, security, and maintainability.

Backend Architecture

The backend uses Python and FastAPI with a feature-based architecture and clear separation between routes, services, and repositories.

  • FastAPI REST API with feature-based organization.
  • Routes, Services, and Repositories architecture.
  • MongoDB with PyMongo for data persistence.
  • Redis for OTP and temporary authentication data.
  • Pydantic models for request and response validation.
  • Environment-based configuration using pydantic-settings.

Authentication and Security

  • Email verification using OTP-based registration.
  • JWT access and refresh token authentication.
  • 30-minute access tokens and 7-day refresh tokens.
  • Argon2 password hashing.
  • Role-based access control with admin, user, and guest roles.
  • Forgot-password and password-reset flows.
  • Session management and logout support.

Accessibility Bug Reporting

  • Create, view, edit, and delete accessibility bug reports.
  • Search and filter bug reports by relevant attributes.
  • Associate reports with application and platform information.
  • Enforce ownership-based permissions for modifying reports.
  • Support community verification of reported accessibility experiences.

Application Management

Applications are managed separately from bug reports to reduce inconsistent application names and duplicate records.

  • Normalized application-name search.
  • Duplicate prevention based on application and platform.
  • Searchable application picker.

Frontend

The frontend uses Flutter Web and communicates with the FastAPI backend through REST APIs.

  • Riverpod for state management and dependency injection.
  • Dio for HTTP communication and authentication interceptors.
  • GoRouter for navigation and authentication guards.
  • flutter_secure_storage for client-side token storage.
  • JSON serialization using json_serializable.
  • Feature-based frontend organization aligned with the backend architecture.

Engineering Focus

The project demonstrates practical backend engineering concepts, including layered architecture, REST API development, authentication and authorization, database design, caching, temporary data management, validation, ownership-based access control, and separation of business logic from data-access concerns.

AccessTracker is designed as a community knowledge base. Community verifications represent individual users' experiences in their own environments rather than determining whether an accessibility issue is objectively fixed.
